Hertford Regional College is a medium-sized, general further education college with campuses in Broxbourne and Ware. The College offers a wide range of full-time and part-time courses for school leavers as well as adults and prides itself on the quality of its study and work experience programmes, strong employer and community partnerships, industry expert lecturers and tutors, and award-winning facilities.
In order to welcome new and returning students safely and help ease any worries they may have about sharing potentially busy spaces, the College decided – amongst other measures – to have social distancing screens (also known as sneeze screens or guards) installed in a number of key, high density areas.
We supplied and fitted made-to-measure clear acrylic screens to a variety of spaces including between computer positions across both campuses, IT classrooms, salon and beauty spaces, learning resources centres, the College restaurant, receptions and staff offices. Clear acrylic screens have the benefit of creating a physical barrier without being obtrusive. They are also easy of maintenance and highly cost-effective. All screens were either freestanding with acrylic feet or desk-mounted with adhesive brackets so there was no drilling into existing furniture, which was one of the client’s requirements.
The work undertaken by our team was essential in supporting the College in Covid-proofing their sites ahead of the new academic year starting and is a further example of their commitment to leading in all fields.
Hertford Regional College commented: “The work undertaken was excellent, the quality of the materials and the pace at which the screens were supplied and fitted resulted in both sites being opened to students in a safe and secure manner.”
