Pets at Home

Pets at Home is the UK’s leading pet care business. Egan Reid worked alongside Pets at Home’s in-house design team and Firebox Design to create a productive and accessible space for 280 support office colleagues within a previously unoccupied three-storey building – delivering the company’s vision of a “fun, friendly workplace for everybody”. It was essential that workspaces were created for all colleagues; collaborative, quiet spaces and social settings were all equally important.

From the cable managed bench and sit-stand desking of the open plan offices to the mix of industrial and natural finishes in the canteen space or the more homely feel of some of the breakout and collaborative areas, the project is a highly successful combination of functionality and flexibility with oodles of personality and bespoke elements.

The show-stopping kitchen facility was designed and built to be a functional and adaptable space, with exposed ductwork, raw steel and rust effect materials softened with natural wood and leather soft seating. In contrast, the breakout zones, collaborative areas and quiet seating booths are cosy, relaxing and sociable – ideal spaces for individual “away from the desk” time or informal team discussions.
